What do you get when you mix a lifelong passion for learning, a lifetime spent across three continents plus an open and critical mindset in addition to an insatiable curiosity for new perspectives on addressing the challenges of the future?
Answer?
The First Republic. A potentially new way of seeing the world around us and changing it for the better.
Changing the future...Momentous words uttered by more than a few hopeful and idealistic visionaries over the centuries and millennia. Yet the notion of discovering a new path capable of providing a viable and sustainable future for all of humankind is one which we repeatedly return to despite the passage of time.
I don’t pretend to know the path to future sustainability, all I can offer is my perspective on what may be potentially one path to a better future for all of us. A future free from inequality and one in which the very real challenges of our own time including climate change are potentially addressed. A future which empowers each and every one of us since after all, the challenges of the future will undoubtedly affect entire societies.
And although I’m just starting out with this blogging thing (apparently it is a rather big deal and I’m quite late to the party), hopefully I can provide something to the question of where exactly do we go as a species. Questions from economics, inequality, societal reform, or even just a regular old book and film review might frequent this site. Indeed, this blog might better be viewed as an open conversation between you and myself.
